Customer review from the US:
In any given week I generally do six to ten prints with some of them taking 10+ hours to complete. This review is an account of what this experience has taught me so far about 3D printing in general as well as the MPMSM in particular – distilled from these past two months worth of print jobs!
First off: I was very impressed with the out-of-the-box quality of this printer. For what it is and what it costs, its small bed does a marvelous job of printing! Yes, print quality isn’t as good as some other printers but for such an affordable price you get wonderfully printed objects to show your friends or give away in gifts.

After about a week of use, the bed heater wires on my printer started to bind. I wasn’t alone in this problem- many other people had it as well and discovered that one simple solution was rerouting these pesky cables around so they don’t obstruct any moving parts like the belt or spool holder from turning freely. It doesn’t look perfect but there are 3D print designs available for printing replacement side panels which can be installed with a wire loom (to conceal all cable) if you want your machine looking factory-new again!
The other thing I’ve noticed is that if I eject the SD cartridge to load more files, it’s best to power cycle the printer. About 80% of the time, you can plug in and print again afterward but sometimes this happens – it decides not to want to work anymore so then you have no choice but to power off or unplug your device. However, these are issues for people who use 3D printers professionally because they’re not designed with stability in mind.

3D Filament
Maker Select v2 is a 3D printer that can print with ABS-based, PLA-based, TPU, and other types of filament. Customer review from the US:
You’re not the only one who wants to be able to store more photos, music, and videos on your computer. Monoprice’s Micro SD Card reader is a must-have for anyone with an Android tablet or phone that has microSD card slots! This convenient extension will allow you to access easily all of those files without having to plug in anything complicated every time.
The Monoprice printer is an affordable option for the home office or small business. You’ll need to send it back, which can be a chore and may mean being without your device for a while; however, their support team has been great so far! I contacted them via Live Chat on their website initially but since my purchase was through Amazon even though that representative suggested mail-in service (as opposed to email), I had to start fresh with another person in customer care by sending out emails about my concerns.

When I asked what my wife wanted for our anniversary last year, she told me that her dream gift would be a 3D printer. She’s always been the creative type and had recently gotten into crochet which leads to a painting, crafting – all those things you do when your passion is not just one thing. When we started looking at prices it seemed like an unobtainable luxury as they were so expensive! But then came some developments in technology that have made them much more affordable than before making this perfect birthday present possible.
The machine was a gift from my sister and it’s been great so far! The only hiccup has come when I had to send the device back because of an early malfunction. However, customer service handled this quickly for me – one phone call later and they shipped out another unit right away without any hassle whatsoever. It’s looking like everything will be taken care of soon enough even if I’m left with some downtime while waiting on repairs/replacement parts (which is always annoying).
Conclusion – Monoprice Select Mini Vs Maker Select v2
After considering the pros and cons of both, I would recommend Monoprice Select Mini as it is a more reliable printer. It does not require continuous maintenance like Maker Select v2 which can be difficult for some people with less technical knowledge to deal with. The print quality is also better than Maker Select v2 in my opinion but this may vary depending on your preference. Plus, you get all the benefits of assembling your 3D printer yourself!
